An innovative and lateral thinking Product Design Engineer who enjoys all aspects of the design process; from the creativity of initial ideation to the challenge of solving technical manufacturing problems. I want to design to make change, focusing on renewable energies and the future of sustainability.
Project Lead & Mechanical Engineer
October 2023 - Current
Project Lead for a £350K Department for Transport funded 12 month project. The project is for the design and development of a Raman spectroscopy device for the railways. PlasmaTrack Ltd is a spin out company from The Imagination Factory developing a plasma train to solve the £350m annual problem of leaves on the line for Network Rail. The Raman spectroscopy device will be used to scan the rail head for contamination which in turn will alert the plasma train to turn on and remove the contaminated leaf layer. As project lead I am in charge of project management and budgeting, Building physical prototypes, Testing and evaluating on track and in lab, data analysis and algorithm programming.

Design Engineering Placement and Graduate role at The Imagination Factory. Experience working within a high paced consultancy; working on multiple projects at any one time and confidently presenting to clients. Working both individually and in a team on a variety of government funded, in-house and purely client based projects. Gained an in-depth understanding of a variety of technologies including augmented reality headsets and Arduino powered electronics. Worked on projects within Renewable Energy, Medical, Consumer Tech and Transport sectors.

Self-employed freelance CAD and graphic design work for Iain Sinclair Design and Grant Sinclair.
Increased confidence in dealing directly with personal clients and estimating project complexity to provide accurate proposals and quotes.
Technology Product Manager
June 2021 - August 2021
Tech intern for Tesco Technology. Product Manager role managing back end distribution systems.
Carried out UX/UI workshops and user testing for the Tesco grocery home shopping app. Attended meetings with the F&F fashion design team, learning how to create fashion design mood boards. Took part in and won the Tesco Labs Hackathon.
In-house Product Designer

Being the only product designer in the team at Stylideas Ltd, meant being in charge of the whole design process from testing and initial prototyping to corresponding directly with manufacturers.
Created a variety of product and graphic design concepts, seeing them through from initial ideation to being sold in Tesco and ASOS.
Gained one to one mentoring with The Apprentice winner Tom Pellereau and had work assessed by Lord Alan Sugar.

BSc Product Design Engineering (1st Class Hons) 4 year course with placement year.
