Revolving Speaker
Fully Functioning Bluetooth Speaker
This speaker attaches to the wall using a French Cleat Design. The user adjusts the volume by rotating the brass ring. Brass was chosen to create a nice user experience touch point, providing a soft touch and cold feel.
Initial prototypes tested different ways to fix to the wall. The idea being that multiple hooks are provided with the speaker so it can be used in multiple rooms in the house.
Different sticky pads were experimented with to stick the hooks to the wall. Silicone worked well as it didn't peel the paint away and they could be reused a few times.
The final chosen design was made in foam and the electronics were tested inside.
2 speakers, 1 potentiometer and one Bluetooth module was used.
The Speaker shell was 3D printed and a grey fabric was sprayed onto it.
The french cleat and back of the speaker were made from red wood and the front ring is made from brass sheet wrapped round model board.
