Flip 'n' Dip
Award Winning Hummus and Cracker Snack Pot

Flip 'n' Dip uses playful packaging to engage the user with the product experience. Not only is it a healthy popular snack option that hasn't been made on-the-go before, it also uses the packaging to let the user eat the snack how they would like. The lid for the packaging doubles up as a spreader for the hummus. The minimal packaging and second use for the packaging fits with the brand's sustainability goals.
The Brief
This project is a winner of the Pladis (owners of McVities and Jacobs) biscuit competition and I was able to attend their national ideation day to develop ideas for their 5 year pipeline. The collaborative brief asked to design a bite-size biscuit product and suitable packaging that would encourage healthy eating out of the home and on the go. The packaging should have either some mechanical or electronic element to it. The target market is young professionals aged 20-35.

The outer packaging is card, with a vacuum formed plastic insert. The lid of the hummus and biscuit doubles up as a card spreader. The cut out on the front of the outer card displays the colour of the humus to show the different flavours.
6 pots fit into one vacuum formed holder to sit on a shop shelf.
