Detecting Railway Track Contamination

PlasmaTrack is a spin out from the design agency The Imagination Factory. It is developing a train that uses plasma to clean the tracks. I was asked to their lead a £350k 12 month Department for Transport funded project, 'Raman for the Railways'. As Project Lead and Mechanical Engineer I developed and designed an algorithm and physical product for using Raman Spectroscopy as a way to detect railway track contamination.
